Seth J. Zuckerman joined Gottlieb & Janey in January 2018 as counsel to the firm. Mr. Zuckerman represents clients in a wide variety of white-collar criminal defense and traditional criminal defense matters in federal and state courts in New York and throughout the country. Mr. Zuckerman has obtained countless favorable results for his clients through non-prosecution agreements, motion practice, plea negotiations, and trial. Mr. Zuckerman also contributes to the firm’s complex civil litigation practice.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zuckerman was a partner at an AMLAW 100 firm, handling complex commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense matters.
Mr. Zuckerman also previously served as a senior assistant district attorney (ADA) with the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office. During his tenure at the District Attorney's Office, Mr. Zuckerman was the first of his class and youngest trial attorney to be promoted to senior assistant district attorney. While at the District Attorney's Office, Mr. Zuckerman prosecuted hundreds of major felony crimes from investigation through trial, including murder, attempted murder, vehicular homicide, robbery, burglary, assault, weapons possession, grand larceny, fraud, and sale of narcotics. Mr. Zuckerman presented hundreds of cases to grand juries and successfully tried 15 cases to jury verdict.
Mr. Zuckerman also dedicates a significant portion of his practice to pro bono matters.
Mr. Zuckerman earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School and his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Zuckerman is admitted to practice law in New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District and the Eastern District of New York.
